Started as a fishing skipper in UK before retraining in aquaculture.
Worked for the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC a development
bank in UK) as technical fisheries specialist and project analyst from 1989 1995
with postings and aquaculture project management worldwide.
Moved back to Europe and worked in Mediterranean fish farming industry
before starting own consultancy firm in 1997.
Projects with J. D. & Associates included EU, FAO, Eurofish, CDI
and private clients.
He is a journalist for Fish Farming International (business column)
and writes for other trade papers. He is a regular speaker at international
conferences where he comments on commercial aspects of the fish and aquaculture industries.

Philippe Bricola, Rennes
Founding Member
Postgraduate of IECS Institute of Business Administration,
Masters Degree of Charted Accountancy and Auditing
Formerly CFO and CEO within firms in the electronic and food processing
industry, he created and developed new products like networks systems for the
e-commercial trade in the European market, especially fish auction trade.
As director of the Consultant department he has an in-depth knowledge of IT systems
and technologies applied to traceability, retail and distribution management.
He created in 2002 Cleya Agro Breizh Consulting with the target to bring his
ground knowledge and experiences as trader and managing expert to companies
in the fish and food industry.

Dr. Fred Weirowski, Berlin
Founding Member
Registered expert to the European Commission DG Fish
29 years of experience in fisheries, fish health services and aquaculture
as well as the fish trade business.
His consultancy firm, IAC was founded in 1996. The aims of IAC are to develop
and to implement business concepts and strategies for technical and technological
processes and in marketing of fish products. IAC is working with fisheries
companies, aquaculture plants, fish processing plants, fish wholesalers and traders.
The company IAC was playing an active role in development of market structures
for electronic commerce in fishing sector. Fred Weirowski was working for the
AMI Group, France on IT-based systems for traceability for fish products from
1999 to 2002.

Dr. Sunil Kadri, Glasgow
MSc in Aquaculture (Stirling); PhD in Zoology (Glasgow)
20 years working in aquaculture have given him experience in Canada, USA,
Chile, Japan, India, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, most countries of Western
Europe, as well as some parts of Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Following 2 years in a fisheries aid project in the Philippines, he completed a PhD
in fish behaviour as related to aquaculture, and went on to become a founder
of Aquasmart International AS (now merged with others to become AKVAsmart AS),
the leading manufacturer of feed delivery systems for aquaculture.
Since leaving AKVAsmart in Nov. 01, he has started his own consultancy firm,
Aquaculture Innovation, through which he is involved in aquaculture biotech
marketing, sales and support for MariCal Inc. as well as contracts for diverse
clients such as the Finnish Govt., Canadian Govt., European Commission, feed manufacturers,
fish farmers and Stirling and Glasgow Universities. He holds an Honorary Research
Fellowship at Glasgow University. His specialities within the aquaculture field include:
feed management; environment; fish welfare; fish behaviour; organic aquaculture; research,
development; marketing, sales and implementation of new technologies for
improvement of production; not to mention access to his vast network of contacts throughout the world.

Dr. Sigurdur Bogason, Reykjavík
PhD in Food Science and Technology (Oregon State); MSc in Food Science (U of Iceland)
He worked as a Scientific Officer for the European Commission from 2000 to 2004,
and gained extensive knowledge of the European Framework Research Programmes, and the EC
institutions.
After returning to Iceland he worked for the Icelandic Fisheries Laboratories as International
Projects Development Manager as well as starting his own research and consultancy company
MarkMar ehf, and is the firms Managing Director and CEO.
Currently he is also appointed as a Researcher and FP7 Facilitator at the Faculty of
Engineering at University of Iceland, and as the FP7 projects Facilitator at the
Marine Research Institute in Iceland.
He has more than 20 years of experience working in the fisheries and aquaculture industries, as a
fisherman, in processing, and in product development and marketing internationally. This
has given him experience in Iceland, France, UK, USA, Namibia, South Africa,
Japan, and most countries of Western Europe. His professional experience within the
international seafood industry includes having worked as a R&D and Group Development
manager for the SIF Group and the Icelandic Freezing Plants Corporation, two of the
largest Icelandic Fish marketing and exporting companies.
He also gained experience in a developing country when he was appointed as the first
Managing Director and CEO of FISHCOR LTD and the Seaflower subsidiaries in Namibia
from 1993 to 1995.
